  <title>3 Years and 2 Months</title>
  <link>http://azilem.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=22</link>
<description>It&#039;s amazing how time passes by without being mindful of the months, days and years that has gone by. Today I celebrate 3 years and 2 months of my stay with 1&amp;1 it has been a challenging at the same time fulfilling to be working with the company. Amidst all of the controversies, back stabbing, gossip, scandals? I&#039;m still reporting to the office 8 or more hours 5 days a week. I am contemplating how I was able to stick for 3 years one thing for sure it&#039;s definitely not the salary.

Reasons why I stayed:
1. Opportunity to learn - Working in support taking calls from customers presents an opportunity for me to learn. I like learning new things it has always been my passion to discover and try out new stuff whether sport outdoors, hobbies or technology. With every call you gain knowledge it doesn&#039;t have to be always technical it can also be trivial things. You just need to have the attitude of being eager to learn and aggressive, use the resources rather than depending on the 2nd level.

2. Office environment - No uniform, you can come in wearing shorts and you don&#039;t have to be a top agent in order to dress up the way you want to ( unlike other companies where this is considered as a reward). Free Ice Tea! Lockers! Internet Cafe!

3. Team - Working in a team of 13 to 15 people that doesn&#039;t have to change every 3 months or so. You develop personal bond with each member, coming to the office not just to earn but to have fun and interact. Every quarter you get to have the Team building with company shedding a budget for it. Cool!

4. Job Security - Unlike other outsourced companies who can pull out anytime 1&amp;1 provides security. That&#039;s a big difference between being an outsourced support than
offshore support center. This was one of my question during my interview when I was applying 3 years back then.

5. Room for improvement/growth - With the continuous expansion there is a big room for growth. This isn&#039;t served in golden platter for you. Hard work is needed to climb up the career ladder.

Challenges over the 3 years I stayed with the company:

1. Salary - Compared to other IT companies pay is not that competitive. I stayed because I am not after the &#039;mulah&#039; but the experience and knowledge you can gain.

2. Controversies such as office politics - Every work place has office politics, true there are people whom you and I think doesn&#039;t deserve the promotion. I can&#039;t do anything about it, going on strike or quitting is absurd I&#039;d end up on the loosing team.
Work hard and instead look at it as a challenge in climbing up the ladder and once you&#039;re on top then you can do something about the problem. You gain respect when you worked hard for what you have, success tastes sweeter if you shed blood and sweat for it.

I guess three years is enough and hopefully I have more than enough knowledge stored in my knapsackWink before I leaveLaughing

To the people who have made my stay for the past 3 years memorable and fun, Many Thanks! Opa!!</description>

  <title>Bantayan</title>
  <link>http://azilem.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=18</link>
  <description>Bantayan Outing
Bantayan is a magnificent small Island off the northwest coast of Cebu, and it&#039;s unlike any other provinces: it&#039;s quiet...really quiet - there aren&#039;t many cars on the Island. Bantayan island, the shining tropical paradise in Asia is commonly known as an island paradise in Philippines. Tourists as far as Europe fall in love with its fine white sand and crystal clear blue waters. Many of these foreigners even settled down on the island to spend the rest of their lives. They build single-cottage beach houses along the shore but as time went by, construct a couple of new cottages instead to accommodate the growing number of tourists who seeks safe haven on the splendid island paradise. Two of the main attraction of the island is its crystal-clear waters and it&#039;s long stretch of powdery white sand. The stunning sunset will really spice those romantic walks on the beach. One of the reasons the island is famous is its peacefulness, the way a resort should be. Unsaturated beauty and a combination of sweet smiling natives made the island as it is now.
